Herborg Church
The church was built during 1898-99 and was consecrated 19th March 1899. The church was designed by the architect V.Ahlmann, Århus and built in red bricks and consists of a choir, a nave and a tower with a spire. The altar piece is representing "the good Sheperd", painted by Sophus Vermehren (1823-1910) who was a professor with connection to the Academy of Fine Arts at Charlottenlund, Copenhagen. The altar piece is of high value and is also very rare, due to the fact that Sophus Vermehren was not a very productive artist. On the load bearing beam of the organ gallery, pointing towards the nave, you can read the following inscription:" Now, each one of thou, freely leave and rely on the mercy of God."
