Vejers
When the first bathers arrived at Vejers Strand well over 100 years ago, they had pretty much the whole wide, white sand beach all to themselves, and that’s still the case. Despite the growing interest in the area, Vejers has managed to maintain its calm holiday style with a low pulse.
Wonderful Vejers
The small and charming town of Vejers, located just north of Denmark's westernmost point, is where contrasts meet and life is allowed to unfold in its own calm rhythm. The North Sea may seem huge and overwhelming, but the contrast is that the sea - the rhythmic swell of the waves and the sand between your toes - often has a calming effect.
In Vejers, there are plenty of opportunities to experience both the grandeur of nature and the simple pleasures. With a relaxed pace and a sense of life's little quirks, the small town invites you to stroll hand in hand along the beach, where the roar of the sea mixes with the soft whisper of the wind. There is a special calm in Vejers, where there is room to be yourself and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
One of the places where the calm is particularly noticeable is on Vejers' long, wide beach. It's arguably the town's greatest asset, and it's not hard to see why. You can drive right down to the water's edge, making it easily accessible to everyone, and on a clear summer day the beach stretches as far as the eye can see with families and couples finding their place in the sand. But it's not just relaxation that the beach provides - Vejers is also home to the annual Kite Festival and Amber Festival, where colourful kites dance across the sky and the gold of the North is sought on the shore.

Kites in the sky and gold at the water's edge
Vejers is a fun mix of different activities and target groups. From the vibrant Kite Festival, which especially attracts families with children, but also couples sitting in their camping chairs admiring the lively kites casting colours in the sky.
To the quieter Amber Festival that brings together those with a passion for amber. While the kites capture the attention of the children, it's the amber that attracts the adults who wander along the coast in the hope of finding a golden shard among the stones. The amber festival in Vejers attracts those who enjoy nature's treasures and the calm, meditative slow hunt for the small pieces of amber that have been washed up on the beach for thousands of years.

Fall asleep near the water
For many, it's not just the magic of the beach or festivals that draws them to Vejers. It's also the unique accommodation options that offer something for everyone. At Vejers Strand Camping you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves, while Stjerne Camping and Vejers Familiecamping are ideal for those looking for a more family-friendly experience. Many come to Vejers with a love for camping - a simple but authentic way to be at one with nature.

Eat well to the sunset
Even the best beach day needs a good ending, and that's where Dine and Wine comes into the picture. As the most popular eatery in town, it offers a calm and intimate environment where you can enjoy a glass of wine and a delicious meal while the sun sets over the North Sea. With its simple elegance, Dine and Wine has become a favourite spot for many visitors to Vejers.

The small gems in Vejers
For those looking for a more active holiday, there are plenty of opportunities to explore nature on two legs. The beach in particular is an obvious choice for a hike. There's something special about feeling the sand under your feet and hearing the gentle sound of the sea as you walk and find your inner balance. It's an experience that many appreciate - an opportunity to connect with both yourself and nature in a deeper way.
If you have a fondness for shopping and handicrafts, Vejers doesn't disappoint either. Here you'll find small, local gems like Batard Bakery, offering freshly baked bread and cakes, and WestWind Vejers, offering high-quality, modern clothing. Vejers Strand Dropskogeri and Iscafé is also a must, especially if you want to take home a sweet treat. Here you can buy the most delicious homemade sweets and enjoy a good cup of coffee. While Strand-Galleriet in Vejers, located just 150 metres from the North Sea, presents beautiful handicrafts from local artists.

Nature in Vejers
One of the things that really sets Vejers apart, however, is the area's rich wildlife. There are few places where you can experience deer as close as here. The majestic animals can often be seen grazing in the forests and meadows surrounding the town, and it's not uncommon for them to appear in the early morning hours to greet the early risers. Seeing a deer in the wild is an experience that leaves a mark on the soul and for many it is one of the highlights of visiting Vejers.
Vejers is a place where nature and culture merge. While big events like the Amber Festival and Dragon Festival put the town on the map, it's the small moments - a quiet walk along the beach, a cup of coffee in the cosy local bakery or a glimpse of a stag on the horizon - that make many people visit Vejers again and again.
